Posidens Dish

This is a cast ferrous sculpture by the artist Tom Grimsy it is displayed at Millfield School.  No previous care plan or restoration had been carried out on the sculpture. Lichens and moss had started to develop on the surface due to its position under a tree. Treatment involved removal of surface detritus with a cold pressure washer and pacify corrosion with a 10% tannic acid solution, a final solvent clean before applying a protective coating.

Nine months later I was back on site at Millfield to restore the other sculptures and under request gave it another cold pressure wash and another layer of protective coating.
